Brizan Publishing readies for launch

Formed in September 2019, Brizan Publishing is the newest division of Jessel Bizan Design Group Ltd. created to provide digital and print media content including but not limited to art, business, design, education, entertainment, fashion, and self-help and empowerment.
Brizan Publishing follows on the heels of AUX, the company’s creative division which was introduced in March 2019 as a premium service-based creative resource specialising in fashion and fashion-related industries.
According to the company’s founder and managing director Jessel Brizan, the division is set to officially launch around mid to late July 2020 with the release of its first publication - Costing for Fashion: A Guide for Startups and Small Businesses.
“Like the rest of the world we suffered some major setbacks due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. We initially anticipated an April 2020 launch but ‘nothing before its time’,” Brizan said. “Independently publishing has been a tedious process, but the experience is rewarding as it is challenging,” he added.
According to Brizan, the purpose of Costing for Fashion is to help fashion professionals by providing a simple yet comprehensive approach to the efficient and effective costing, pricing and profitability of their product(s), and ultimately, success of their businesses. In the spirit of creating awareness, collaboration, community, and creativity, it was developed as a support tool to help fashion professionals navigate and mitigate the challenges facing their businesses.
He added, Costing for Fashion is an educational reference manual geared towards new or aspiring designers, startups, small businesses, and educators, and provides an overview of market considerations, customer focus, and examines the factors that influence the costing, pricing and profitability of a product and/or service. It was created in keeping with standard accounting principles to equip and acclimate users with the terminology, methodology and procedures requisite for the global fashion industry.
The company plans to launch its second publication Technical Package Development for Excel © in August 2020 as they are in the process of finalising an agreement with GINETEX (the International Association for Textile Care Labelling). The company has also garnered approval from the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) for use of its standards in the publication.
“Ultimately, our goal is to effectively contribute to the sustainable growth and development of Caribbean fashion, and the world at large.”
The publications are created in their entirety by Brizan who brings over fifteen years experience as a founder, educator and fashion professional, and now author.
“We are hopeful that fashion stakeholders locally, regionally and globally will find our publications and their content beneficial to the growth, development and success of their businesses. Ultimately, our goal is to effectively contribute to the sustainable growth and development of Caribbean fashion, and the world at large,” Brizan concluded.
Publications will be available directly from Brizan Publisihing and on multiple platforms in several formats encompassing print and digital media. The paperback version of Costing for Fashion is currently available for pre-order here.
