2020: The year that was
VALSAYN, Trinidad and Tobago
December 31, 2020
It goes without saying that 2020 will be recorded as one of the most profoundly memorable yet wantonly forgettable years in the annals of recent world history.
The coronavirus COVID-19 unleashed a devastating pandemic responsible for over 1.8 million deaths and counting worldwide, in addition to extensive economic and social despair.
The murder of Minneapolis resident George Floyd sparked a worldwide movement of racial and civil unrest in protest of the prevailing human rights violations committed predominantly against African Americans and “people of colour” at the hands of Caucasian law enforcement officers in America.
“Man must put aside its differences in favour of the common good of collective humanity. ”
Political, economic and social turmoil within the borders of our South American neighbour Venezuela found its way to our shores as Trinidad and Tobago was converted into a refugee camp for Venezuelans fleeing their native land in desperate search of asylum.
And in the wake of tragedy, humanity is faced with the almost foreboding and unenviable task of rebuilding. But as history has shown, the human spirit is resilient because it is so created. Man must put aside its differences in favour of the common good of collective humanity. And so continues the recovery process.
Much like the rest of the world, Jessel Brizan Design Group had to acknowledge, accept and adjust to the uncontrollable factors that threatened our daily existence, and deep dive into the well of innate resourcefulness that resides within the human mind, body and spirit.
Despite the challenges, we take pride in our accomplishments which are deeply rooted in our corporate philosophy, mission, vision, and values.
