Jessel Brizan Donates Book to UTT Libraries

Fashion entrepreneur, author, and educator Jessel Brizan, founder of Jessel Brizan Design Group Ltd. (JBDG), visited the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Tamana Campus, on 16 June 2026 to donate a copy of his newly published book, Selling Fashion Collections: Navigating the Buying Process as a Fashion Entrepreneur.

Published by Routledge in 2026, the book provides a comprehensive guide to merchandising, marketing, and selling fashion collections, with a particular focus on preparing for and navigating buyer meetings. The publication is designed to support emerging fashion designers, fashion entrepreneurs, students, and industry practitioners seeking to build commercially viable fashion businesses.

The donation forms part of Brizan’s ongoing commitment to advancing fashion education and entrepreneurship in Trinidad and Tobago. By making the publication available through the UTT library system, students and faculty will have access to contemporary industry knowledge that bridges the gap between fashion creativity and commercial success.

“Fashion education must extend beyond design and creativity to include the commercial skills required to build sustainable businesses,” said Brizan. “I am pleased to contribute this resource to UTT and support the next generation of Caribbean fashion entrepreneurs.”

The visit provided an opportunity to engage with members of the university community and reinforce the importance of industry-academic collaboration in strengthening the Caribbean fashion ecosystem.

Selling Fashion Collections: Navigating the Buying Process as a Fashion Entrepreneur explores topics including market analysis, brand positioning, buyer meeting preparation, line sheets, pricing, order forms, lookbooks, and strategies for converting buyer interest into purchase orders. The book is recommended for students of fashion buying and merchandising, fashion management, fashion enterprise, and entrepreneurship.
