Jessel Brizan Publishes Third Book

Today marks the official publication of Selling Fashion Collections: Navigating the Buying Process as a Fashion Entrepreneur by JBDG Founder Jessel Brizan. This is his third book and his first with Routledge and Taylor & Francis Group.

“Until now, no book on this subject existed”, Brizan explained. “This is the culmination of a journey that began in 2024, while I was pursuing my Fashion Business Management MA at the University of Westminster in London.”

According to Brizan, he came close to terminating the agreement with Taylor and Francis due to what he considers uncharacteristic unprofessionalism, after missing two previous deadlines. But due to encouragement and support from the Commissioning Editor, Sarah Rae, he decided to push forward in attainment of the newly set deadline.

“This book is the result of years of industry experience, research, and teaching”, he stated. “Across the Caribbean and beyond, I have seen extraordinary creative talent struggle not because of design, but because of gaps in market readiness, pricing, production, and business acumen. This book was written to bridge that gap.”

As Brizan notes, ‘Selling Fashion Collections’ is a practical guide to one of the most overlooked yet critical aspects of building a fashion business—selling your collection—from preparing for the buyer meeting to delivering with confidence to building long-term value after the sale.

“This represents more than a book launch”, Brizan added. “It is my contribution to building a more structured, sustainable, and globally competitive fashion ecosystem, particularly in the Caribbean and other emerging markets.”

Brizan expressed his gratitude to several individuals whom he claims were pivotal in bringing this book to fruition.

“I am eternally grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey”, he inserted. “Special thanks to Olga Mitterfellner, Kirsty Hardwick, Sophia Levine, Nicole Doyle, and Sarah Rae. For your endorsement, additional thanks to Sanya Mathura and Andrew Ramroop.”
