The Caribbean has a documented history of foreign invaders and colonizers - from the Spanish conquistadors to the slave traders to the American imperialists - all of whom have left an indelible legacy of capitalism, colonialism, destruction, disease, genocide, pillage, and rape that present-day still pervade the socioeconomic, societal, cultural, and political landscape of the region.

Guardians of the Caribbean pays homage to its native warriors from the indigenous peoples to the slave rebellions to the soldiers of the Caribbean or Carib Regiment who served in the Middle East and Italy during World War II to the revolutionary figures who spearheaded campaigns against enemies domestic and foreign.
